Whatsapp Tips And Tricks

Whatsapp, another most used app worldwide. Back in the time its intended  use was only to update statuses to let your friends know what you are up to or simply WHAT IS UP (Whatsapp?) with your life however with the passing time this app enhanced its features to messaging followed by voice calling and then video calling your contacts. Lately it has added another new yet popular feature of stories i.e update your status using pictures, giphs and videos. Today this is one of the most popular and widely used messaging app in the world. Almost everybody who has smartphone, has this app installed in their devices too, that they use quite frequently.

I thought when we all are its daily users I should share some smart tricks and tips to use this app more effectively and some of them are as follows. (I'll keep updating them time to time..)

Change Privacy Of Your DP:

You can limit your display picture privacy to your contacts or just to yourself. However by default it is set on public. Click the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Privacy >> Profile photo and choose your audience.

Hide Your Last Seen:

Annoyed of getting in trouble because of your last seen? Hide it now. Tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Privacy >> Last Seen and set its privacy to 'only me'.

Set Audience For Your Statuses:

You can choose your audience for statuses now either once or everytime you post it. Be it your complete contact list or a specific person. If you want to keep same audience for all your statuses, tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Privacy >> Status and choose your audience. However if you want to set audience for a particular update, follow this method, after selecting your status or editing it, tap on check mark at the bottom right of the screen and then tap setting icon along with 'My Status' bar , select your audience and then tap on my status and it's done.

Turn Off Blue Ticks:

Ignoring someone's messages? Don't want them to know you have read it? Just tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Privacy, scroll all the way down and uncheck read receipts. Now open that message, read it or delete it, close Whatsapp window, open it again and enable blue ticks. (Remember if you do not close the window and enable read receipts instantly, it will send blue ticks to your sender and all this will go in vain. JUST DON'T FORGET TO CLOSE YOUR WINDOW BEFORE ENABLING IT AGAIN!) And if you want to permanently turn off the blue checks then don't enable again. (Note: Your read receipts always sent to group conversations)

Hide Your Name From "Who View My Status":

By turning off the blue checks before watching someone's status update it will not send your view to that person. (Good thing is unlike read receipts, you can enable it just after watching the update and they will never know.)

Use Whatsapp With A Different Number:

If you have activated your personal number on your phone but want to use whatsapp with another number, just add that different number while activating whatsapp. It will send you a code via sms, insert that code and you have successfully activated whatsapp with a different number.

Block Annoying Contacts:

Is someone harassing/annoying you with unwanted texts? Why not block him? Just open their chat tap the ellipses icon >> more >> block.

Furthermore if you want to block any contact you never had any conversation with, tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Privacy, scroll all the way down, tap blocked contacts and add that number manually.

Read Your Message Info:

Want to know when your message get delivered t the receiver and when they finally read it? Select your message, tap on "I" icon at the top of the screen and here is all the information. (You will never know when someone has read your message if you have turned off your blue ticks.)

Forward Messages:

You received a message and want to share it with your friend too? Select that message, tap on "forward arrow" icon at the top of the screen and send it.

Reply Messages:

Want to reply a particular message? Select that message, tap on "backward arrow" icon at the top of the screen, add your reply and send it.

Attach Media:

Want to send notes/files/pictures/giphs/videos/location or any media using Whatsapp? Tap on attach file icon at the top of the screen, attach media and send it.

Place Video/Voice Call:

Place voice/video call to your contact by selecting that contact and tapping the phone icon.

Star Important Messages:

You receive a message and it touches your heart? Star that message now and keep it in starred message folder so you can read it again whenever you want. Select that message, tap on star icon at the top of the screen.

You can find it in starred message folder later, tap the ellipses icon >> starred messages and here it is.

Clear Chat:

When your conversation grew too longer, it takes a lot of time to delete it. Want to get rid off that chat in almost no time? Open the conversation, tap the ellipses icon >> more >> clear chat.

Take Backup:

Keep your messages save by backing them up. Tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Chat >> Chat Backup and press backup.

Archive Messages:

Press and hold the chat you want to archive and tap on "downward arrow" icon at the top of the screen.

Use Whatsapp On Your Laptop:

You can use Whatsapp on your PC or Laptop too as far as your phone is connected to wifi. Tap the ellipses icon>> Whatsapp web, open on your PC and scan the code.

Change Whatsapp Number:

You have changed your number and what to shift your current Whatsapp to that number. Tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Change number and change it.

Stop Auto-media Download:

Tired of all the auto-media download? Turn it off. Tap the ellipses icon, go to Settings >> Account >> Data Usage and update its setting.

Type In Bold/Italic/Strike through:

Decorate your conversation with different fonts.

  1. For Bold Fonts, just add (asterisk) “*” before and after your message. For example, *Hey, how are you?*. Hit the send button, and WhatsApp will automatically make it bold.
  2. For Italics, add (underscore) “_” before and after the text. WhatsApp will now convert the text to Italics.
  3. Last is Strikethrough. To use that, you'll need to add (tilde) “~” before and after the text.

Create Shortcut Of Contacts:

Who is stalking me on Facebook?

"Who is viewing my Facebook profile on daily basis?" has always been a question that almost all of us have wondered about, but never got a clue.

And If you were to state you've never pondered who's been looking your Facebook timeline, you'd be lying, undoubtedly. Almost all of us are keen to know who've been looking for us and flicking through our profile pictures. (Right or naah?!)

Furthermore, despite the fact that there are plenty of applications that claim to disclose to you who's been on your profile, yet they obviously never work — which is exactly the reason you're here, reading this article to reveal "Who's been stalking you on Facebook".
